What Is Nepal Olympiad for Informatics?

Nepal Olympiad for Informatics (NOI) is the national event to select the bright higher secondary school (+2) students who are interested in computer science and programming. The outstanding four (4) selected most brilliant NOI finalists will be getting the opportunity to attend in the prestigious International Olympiad for Informatics.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual international informatics competition for individual contestants from various invited countries, accompanied by social and cultural programs.

The number of participating countries has continuously increased, with more than 900 participants and 85 countries attending this year held in Singapore. The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2022) will be held in Indonesia in July 2022. It is the most prestigious computer science competition for secondary school and high school students around the world.

Students compete individually and try to maximize their score by solving a set of informatics problems during two competition days. Cultural and recreational events are organized on the remaining days.

The competition tasks are of algorithmic nature; however, the contestants have to show such basic IT skills as problem analysis, design of algorithms and data structures, programming and testing. The winners of the IOI belong to the best young computer scientists in the world.
